ASSESSMENTS

Speech and language assessments need to be comprehensive and dynamic to fully understand the nature of a person’s communication disorder. Information from different sources are considered including the person’s medical history, family background, standardized and nonstandardized measures. Assessments can occur in highly structured or natural environments according to the individual’s needs. All team members, including the individual, family members, medical and educational professionals, are involved across every step of the process.

Our speech and language assessments help in informing families of the individual’s communication strengths and needs in order to plan and execute intervention effectively. SLPs often work with individuals with the following medical diagnoses:

  • Developmental Delay
  • Phonological Disorders
  • Specific Learning Disabilities
  • Intellectual Disabilities
  • Autism
  • Down syndrome
  • Childhood Apraxia of Speech
  • Stuttering
  • Executive Function Disorders (ADHD)
  • Social Communication Disorders
