SPECIAL EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS
Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires that children with disabilities are provided with Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). Due to the unique needs of children with disabilities, an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) is needed to outline the supports and services that are needed for children with disabilities to access the curriculum. The IEP process is led by your local education agency, or school district.
Read the following guides on the IEP process specific to your state.
